Who we are

We are two moms who have combined our four children plus 2 delightful neighborhood friends into our little Waldorf-style homeschool co-op. We meet Tuesdays-Thursdays from 9-2 and we've split our kids into a 1st/2nd grade combo class and a 3rd/4th grade combo class. Mondays are our swimming at UIC and violin lesson days. Mr. Max is actually teaching four violin classes and 2 budding guitarists!

If you have children in this age range and would like to be a part of our co-op let us know! Waldorf is a very social style of education so we value a group setting!

This 2011-2012 school year was our first year doing the co-op. However, it wasn't our first year as homeschoolers. This year has been a great experience with lots of togetherness, shared help and ideas, and learning experiences. We've built a playhouse together, gone to farms, learned to knit from our lovely knitting instuctor, Leslie, and just generally shared resources such as our violin teacher and curriculum.

Ms. Nicky lives in the  Garfield Park  neighborhood with her husband and  two girls where she has large organic gardens and a pretty-darn-big family of chickens in her backyard. She might also happen to be a talented singer with her own ABBA tribute band!

Ms. Susan lives in the Tri-Taylor neighborhood with her husband,  three kiddos, and a 4th on the way! She is currently seeking out a nice lady who wants to come help with her youngest two while she teaches during the mornings.

Home schooling IS possible in the city of Chicago! There are communities out here! Even on the west side...
