People of the Woodlands part 2

Dylan works on her long home illustration in her lesson book.

Last week the 3rd and 4th grade girls heard about the Native Americans who lived in the woodlands in long homes. They also worked on narrating the story back to their teacher and writing about it in their lesson books.

People of the Woodlands!

Third and forth graders are in their Native American Block.  This week we are learning about People of the Woodlands.  The girls made a Native American Rattle from bone, wood and feathers.  It's beautiful!

Working with Zoe on technique.

Zoe and Sam are working on math in their main lesson block.  Knitting is a great "active skill" that enhances the math they're learning.  It's more fun to add a row of stitches than a row of numbers!

Knitting class with Leslie!

Claire is practicing adding a stitch.  They are working on Knit bandanas.  Hats are next and they get to learn descending!
